Whether you're into waterfalls, wine tasting, beach days, or mountain views, there’s so much to explore within just a few hours of Lebanon. Here are some of our favorite local adventures to help you plan a little extra fun around the festivities:

Make a trip of it

McDowell Creek Falls (Lebanon, OR)
Just minutes from town, this lush, woodsy trail offers a peaceful stroll past a series of waterfalls, footbridges, and swimming holes. A perfect warm-up hike or picnic stop close to home base.

Mary's Peak
The tallest peak in the Oregon Coast Range, Mary's Peak offers panoramic views all the way to the Cascades on a clear day. The summit hike is short and sweet, with wildflowers in early summer.

Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway
Explore history and charm on this mostly flat, family-friendly bike (or drive) route through Linn County—home to more covered bridges than anywhere west of the Mississippi. The 36mile loop winds past picturesque bridges, a sparkling lakeside, and vintage downtowns—perfect for stopping at cafés, snapping photos, and soaking in small-town Oregon vibes

Silver Falls State Park
Oregon’s “crown jewel” of state parks, Silver Falls is home to the famous Trail of Ten Falls—a scenic loop that takes you behind, around, and under some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state.

Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway
This breathtaking drive winds past alpine lakes, volcanic peaks, and meadows dotted with wildflowers. A must-do detour if you're heading toward Bend. More info here.

Willamette Valley Wine Country
Just a short drive from Lebanon lies Oregon’s world-famous wine region. With dozens of scenic vineyards and tasting rooms, it's a Pinot Noir lover’s dream—perfect for a relaxing day of sips and scenery.

Oregon Coast
In about 90 minutes, you can trade trees for tides. Visit Newport or Lincoln City for stunning beach walks, fresh seafood, tidepools, and that unbeatable Pacific Ocean air.

Portland, Oregon
Only 90 minutes north, Portland makes for an easy city getaway. Explore award-winning restaurants, quirky shops, Powell’s Books, beautiful gardens, and plenty of craft beer and coffee.

Bend, Oregon
A couple hours east across the Santiam Pass, Bend is an outdoor playground known for its breweries, high-desert hikes, river floats, and epic views of the Three Sisters and beyond.

Crater Lake National Park
Oregon’s only national park, Crater Lake is a stunning sight: a deep blue lake formed inside a collapsed volcano. It’s worth the extra mileage if you’ve got a day to spare—especially in summer when the Rim Drive is fully open.
